Saturday Confession

I haven't given you a Saturday confession in a long time but today's confession is a doozy! I'm on the road this weekend, visiting my oldest who is off at college for her first year. This means an afternoon spent driving in the car by myself.. I am someone who loves music and usually have it on when I am driving. But being the voracious reader that I am now, I am going to listen to a book while I drive. I chose Surrender by Melody Anne.

It has been on my kindle for close to a year but now that I have Kindle Unlimited, I got the narration for $1.99.  So there is the confession...  I have Kindle Unlimited.  Not really for the books but for the audio. The other part of why is my dear husband who loves to listen to books. We tried the free month and have actually paid for this month so we will see how it goes.

TBT - Oldie But Goodie

This Thursday, I am reaching back to 1994 with Susan Elizabeth Phillips' It Had to be You.  The book that I read had this cover:

Newer versions have different covers but the story remains the same. Readers are introduced to the Chicago Stars, a professional football team whose owner has just died and has left the team to his oldest daughter, Phoebe Somerville.  Mr. Somerville was a shrewd businessman but a poor father to his daughters. The Stars head coach, Dan Calebow is a good ole boy about to find out that there is more to the sexy new boss than meets the eye. Phoebe is about to fall for the man who sees past the showgirl body.

I loved this story and the books that follow after with more about the Stars. If you haven't read these books, you owe it to yourself to give them a try. There's lots of hot athletes, a cute dog, strong women and plenty of laughs.

Deacon Review

I pre-ordered Deacon way back on August 7th and waited and waited for this new book to arrive. It finally did just that late Monday night.  I started in immediately! And I should tell you that I re-read the three previous books in the series during the last week just so I would have it fresh in my mind. Yes, I am that reader!

Deacon opens with a warning that this Adult Erotic romance with an anti-hero. The warning also states there will be explicit erotic scenes (Yes please!) that include light dominance, bondage, as well as anal sex and beyond. I was obviously sold even before I read the warning but that kind of warning in not a deterrent for me.

Kristen Ashley has brought the story of Deacon and Cassie to life with vivid imagery. Deacon is a tortured soul who finally finds his way back to the light. From the first time he meets Cassie to the beginning of their relationship takes 6 years. During those 6 years we see Cassie scrape off her loser boyfriend and work towards her dream with her rental cabins. Deacon is a repeat renter of cabin 11 over those 6 years with irregular visits.  They even spend a Christmas together in her home when he shows up one Christmas Eve and cabin 11 is already rented.

When he finally gives in to the light which is Cassie, their relationship takes off.  Deacon looks more like a traditional alpha hero at times but that back story is always in play. Their relationship definitely has the ups and downs of any other but Deacon cannot bring himself to move fully into the light.

I don't want to give you any more!  You need to read the story for yourself because it is so good! I gave it a five star rating on goodreads. I can tell you that I loved the way some characters from previous books and series were woven into the fabric of Deacon.  That made my heart so very happy!

Look what's here!

And guess who is staying up late to read!

New G-Spot Research

My aunt inadvertently pointed out this article to me today and I immediately headed over to read up! I learned a new word from the article too, clitourethrovaginal (CUV) complex.  Now that's a mouthful (no pun intended!)!  The gist of the article is that there is no one specific G-spot but rather we women are a complex system that varies with our hormones and each individual is different. What works for one may or may not work for another.

I also want to point out that the brain plays a huge role for many women and sometimes that is good and sometimes not so good. As someone who reads lots of erotica I can say there are certain descriptions that are treated as gospel for obtaining the female O and the G-spot is certainly part of that. As more research is completed, I hope authors will expand their ideas on the female O as well.

On the Re-Read List

I've just finished re-reading Kristen Ashley's Unfinished Heroes series and my overall opinion is that series gets better the second time around!  I'm ready now for Deacon to make his appearance this week!

From Goodreads review of  Raid:

Raid (Unfinished Hero, #3)Raid by Kristen Ashley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Just finished reading for the second time and I don't remember crying the first time I read this but the epilogue got me this time. Loved reading the story of Hanna and Raiden.
