Relaxing Weekend?

I don't know about you but this day is always one of my least favorite days of the year! As a business owner, there are all kinds of forms and fees to be paid today and the stress can be tremendous. So I want nothing more than to kick back and read a good book or two (maybe three!) this weekend.

First up on my kindle is Backstage Pass by Olivia Cunning.  I'm 27% done and trying to decide what book to read next.  Already on the kindle are Hopeless by Colleen Hoover, Wildest Dreams by Kristen Ashley, A Reason To Breathe by C. P. Smith, and Mine by Katy Evans.  By no means an exhaustive list from the TBR pile, but rather four books from the top of the pile!

Feel free to share what's on your weekend reading list!

happy reading!

Recommended Reading

That's the title of my new pinterest board!  I'll be sharing books there that I have loved.  Some may be oldies but they still make me smile or they make my heart race just that little bit.  I just started it today and the board will be growing as time permits.  Thanks for taking a look!

Happy Reading!

Question for readers

I've been spending quite a bit of time on FB lately and I've noticed a lot of my fellow readers love to share inspiring pictures of the male variety.  Sometimes it's authors who do this to show who inspired a particular character in a book but sometimes it is readers sharing their own images of the characters.  Sometimes the pictures are fairly tame, an unbuttoned shirt showing off washboard abs, but sometimes there isn't much left to the imagination!

So my question for you is this:  Are you someone who likes a visual image to go with your hero or is the image in your head just right?

Please share your answer in the comments and discuss!

Best Books You Missed in 2013, pt. 2

This is another series that started in 2013 and I've already sung the praises of the first book here.

Natasza Waters has a great beginning in these first two books.  The Code Name series features a US Navy SEAL team and the heroine in both books is a Canadian intelligence expert hired to work at the base.  Ms. Waters is working on the next book, Code Name: Nina's Choice which will tell the story of Nina and Mace.  Mace quickly became a favorite character in Code Name: Ghost and Nina was introduced in Code Name: Kayla's Fire.  I haven't seen a publication date yet but you can be sure I'll be keeping my eye out for this one.

Beck Review

First things first, a huge thank you to Harper Sloan for letting me be part of the Beck blog tour!  I am thrilled that I get to be part of this and share with you my review of this book.  I did receive an ARC for review and I will also say that I have purchased a copy of the book as well. Also note that a portion of sales through January 31, 2014 will be going to charity.

I am a huge fan of the Corps Security series. I started the series with Cage and then read Axel which is not the correct order at all!  It worked for me but if you haven't read the series yet, start with Axel.  Things will make more sense to you if you do. So I have been hooked on these hot, tatted, pierced, total badass guys and Beck does not disappoint.  Ms. Sloan has created some of the best alpha male characters that I have read and I have read a lot!  Beck brings all the badass, all the smarts and all his heart to this story.

Dee is a familiar character to readers of the first two books.  But in this book, we find our what has been going on behind the scenes with Dee.  While she has always been strong for her friends, she isn't all that she appears in the earlier stories.  Sparks flew from the beginning between Beck and Dee but there was so much more drama going on that was hidden.  And I do mean drama!  Readers will need to be prepared for lots of twists and turns in this book. The road for Dee and Beck is not easy but it is a very moving journey skillfully told by Ms. Sloan.

My rating: ***** (five very hot stars!)

In an attempt to grow my audience some, I have created a facebook page for Becca Reads Romance.

I love this image from the graphics fairy!  Le livre defendu translates as the forbidden book which seems like a great way to describe romance novels of the erotic variety.  So if you found this blog, please go and like the facebook page too!

Best Books You May Have Missed in 2013, pt1

This is one of my favorite books and the place to start with Kit Rocha's Beyond series.  This is dystopian erotica and not like anything else I have read!  And yes, the first book came out in 2012 but the next two in the series where 2013 (Beyond Control and Beyond Pain).  If you like your heroes tattooed, built, bad ass, kinky and laws unto themselves, this is the series for you!  And mark your calendar for Beyond Temptation a Beyond novella (#3.5) coming in February 2014.
