Saturday Confession

I haven't given you a Saturday confession in a long time but today's confession is a doozy! I'm on the road this weekend, visiting my oldest who is off at college for her first year. This means an afternoon spent driving in the car by myself.. I am someone who loves music and usually have it on when I am driving. But being the voracious reader that I am now, I am going to listen to a book while I drive. I chose Surrender by Melody Anne.

It has been on my kindle for close to a year but now that I have Kindle Unlimited, I got the narration for $1.99.  So there is the confession...  I have Kindle Unlimited.  Not really for the books but for the audio. The other part of why is my dear husband who loves to listen to books. We tried the free month and have actually paid for this month so we will see how it goes.

TBT - Oldie But Goodie

This Thursday, I am reaching back to 1994 with Susan Elizabeth Phillips' It Had to be You.  The book that I read had this cover:

Newer versions have different covers but the story remains the same. Readers are introduced to the Chicago Stars, a professional football team whose owner has just died and has left the team to his oldest daughter, Phoebe Somerville.  Mr. Somerville was a shrewd businessman but a poor father to his daughters. The Stars head coach, Dan Calebow is a good ole boy about to find out that there is more to the sexy new boss than meets the eye. Phoebe is about to fall for the man who sees past the showgirl body.

I loved this story and the books that follow after with more about the Stars. If you haven't read these books, you owe it to yourself to give them a try. There's lots of hot athletes, a cute dog, strong women and plenty of laughs.
